Reunited And It Feels So Good

"The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him."

So goes the 'Song of the Sea' found in the 15th chapter of Exodus. And now even more historical evidence exists to support its origins. The Associated Press reported today that two separately displayed pieces of an early manuscript recording the song have been reunited by historians. The discovery is being ruled as "accidental", but we all know there's no accidents when it comes to the preservation of God's Word. As Jesus said it himself, "It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law" (Luke 16:17).

Persecuted Church - Raw Footage

Stop reading this post now, unless you are ready to face the difficult reality lived by many Christian believers around the world. In this video, Francis Chan highlights the Christian persecution in India, and the images are not easy to watch. Although our hearts will typically rejoice when we hear that the Gospel is being suffered for, actually seeing it happen may spark much heavier and drastic emotions. As Chan says it himself, take this as a chance to earnestly pray for those in India who are diligently obeying God's call to suffer for Him.

Click here for a longer video with even more unedited raw footage, but be warned, the scenes are very painful. (Via The Gospel Coalition).

Happy Holland

What's Holland, MI got that most other cities don't? Miniature windmills, snowstorms, tulips, and apparently, a whole lot of happy people. When the town was listed as one of the happiest in the United States, ABC News ventured to find a reason for all the smiles. After all, we are talking about Michigan. The answer they found was quite beautiful. Check out the video below:

What a refreshing example of local churches truly playing the role it should be playing within its cities. To bring Christ's love to every home! The Bible is very clear that kind actions alone cannot save the human soul (Ephesians 2:8-9). But in it, God also declares that faith without actions, is flat out phony (James 2:7). Well, the citizens of Holland, MI are reaping what they are sowing (2 Corinthians 9:6): joy.

Gungor Explains Gungor

Forget "The Michael Gungor Band". Seriously, they're so over. No, don't worry, we're not talking about their music, just their name. So they're making the switch to...: "Gungor". I like it! Hoping the new name (and their new music) catches on. Check out the promo video for their new album, Beautiful Things, which comes out next week, for a full explanation:

A Message From Haiti

Pastor Carlos Más is the lead Pastor of Refuge Orphanage and ACB (Children of Bethlehem Association) in Sorocaba, Brazil. Due to his renowned experience in the medical mission and social causes arena, he was invite to visit and serve in Haiti this week. These are his thoughts and reflections after the trip, with some of the pictures he took. Continue praying and donating:

I returned to Brazil today. It was a time of a lot of work in Haiti; the country is destroyed, there is hunger and thirst!

I worked with a team of Brazilian Doctors of AME in cooperation with “Ação Global”, in a camping area set up in a Evangelical Church and also in the Hospital Gerla in Port-au-Prince, where 20,000 people affected by the earthquake are being treated in Hospital Tents of several countries. It is very sad what we saw there. I do not know how the country can he reconstructed, but I know that it is a great opportunity to rebuild in the right way. I do not know how to describe the human and spiritual misery of these people used to voodoo practices.

I know that God did not only bring me there to see these days and serve for a bit.

I want to start a project to help in the reconstruction of Haiti; I specially want ACB to get involved with the AIDS work. Thousands of children died and thousands are orphans. They are in the streets, with friends, or simply in the camps. We need to do something for them and for this generation that is now marked. Before my trip to Haiti, I started some contacts cooperation with the Mission Viva in Costa Rica.

God help us to join hands together for Haiti. Please thank all who were praying.

God Bless You

I Am Second

One of the coolest things I was blessed with last Christmas was a copy of the Glo Bible software (thanks bela) we showed you here. And one of the most interesting things it does is link key scriptures and themes to web video and article content. It was through Glo that I first ran into IAmSecond.com, but since then I've had a few more friends send me some of their videos. Here's one of many, featuring former-Korn guitarist Brian Welch:

Honest stories can be so striking, and IAmSecond.com seem to understand that so well. The simplicity of their videos are so refreshing because they remove all of the "distractions" away and strip the whole thing down to a real person and their real life. Their videos and mission are worth checking out, and I honestly believe that they can impact you and others' lives dramatically. Most importantly, I hope it inspires us to be desperately real with God. After all, He is seeking those who worship Him in "Spirit and in Truth". He's not interested in the "flawless" mask we wear to society. Glad to see so many willing to take the mask off.

Kudos!

"that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ" - Ephesians 3:17-18
